The Sony Cybershot DSC-W30 puts everything you need in one compact, high-performance Digital Camera - Simple controls, 3X optical zoom, 6.0 megapixel resolution, and a bright 2.0" LCD screen. It is an ideal camera for starting out right in digital photography, combining the quality of Sony's 6.0 Megapixel Super HAD CCD and a Carl Zeiss 3X optical zoom lens for superior image quality. Furthermore, the camera has a High Sensitivity mode with Sony's original Clear RAW NR (Noise Reduction) for great low-light shots, while the simple on-screen Function Guide provides for easy setup.
6 Megapixel Super HAD CCD
Higher megapixels give you more detail and definition for large prints and cropping in on your subject. Sony's advanced Super HAD (Hole Accumulated Diode) CCD design allows more light to pass to each pixel, increasing sensitivity and reducing noise.
Carl Zeiss 3X Optical Zoom Lens
3X Optical Zoom helps the DSC-W30 bring distant subjects closer and lets you frame shots for better composition; Sony's precision Digital Zoom provides an additional 2X magnification to zoom in close without jagged edges.
13X Smart Zoom Feature
Sony's Smart Zoom feature lets you magnify your subject beyond the 3x optical zoom to 4.1x (3MP), 5.2x (2MP), and even 13x (VGA). Intelligently cropping into the central portion of the scene, it avoids the image distortion of other digital zooms.
MPEG VX Movie Mode with Audio
Capture VGA (640 x 480 at 30 frames per second) video clips with a length limited only by the capacity of the media. The video mail mode captures smaller file sizes suitable for email.
Large 2.0" LCD Screen
The DSC-W30 has a bright 2.0" LCD screen for setting up and viewing images, with a one-touch "Play" button that makes it quick and easy to view your photos.
Simple Controls and Function Guide
User-friendly controls and a simple on-screen Function Guide (text/icon display) help you set up camera functions, and you'll have greater creative freedom to adjust color mode, sensitivity, brightness, and image size.
High Sensitivity Mode
The High Sensitivity Mode (ISO 1000) allows you to shoot with great results in low-light conditions, and Sony's original Clear RAW NR (Noise Reduction) image processing technology helps suppress the color noise that can accompany high-sensitivity shooting.
Capture Images In-Camera
With 32MB Internal Memory, the DSC-W30 allows you to shoot without a flash memory card, then transfer your images to optional Memory Stick Duo media, upload to your computer, or make prints on your digital printer.
Memory Stick Duo Media
The DSC-W30 has a built-in slot for optional Memory Stick Duo or higher-capacity Memory Stick PRO Duo media - the ultra compact media for shooting, storing, and sharing your photos.
Stamina Battery Power
With its powerful Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery, the DSC-W30 can capture up to 400 images on a charge - enough for a week of shooting. The compact BC-CSG Battery Charger is also supplied for battery recharging on the go.
PictBridge Compatibility
Connect to any PictBridge compatible printer with the supplied Multi-Connector Cable and print directly from the camera. Images can be viewed and selected for printing right on the camera's LCD, with menus for print quantity, date and index print.
