We are pleased along with our friends at Olympus to present a Family Storytelling With Photography Seminar with our special guest Olympus Visionary Anne Day on Thursday evening November 13th. Here's a few words about her...
Anne Day is a veteran photojournalist, portrait, wedding and architecture photographer. Anne is also a writer based in New York City and Connecticut, but she will tell you her favorite subjects are her family members.
Her well-respected work has appeared in TIME, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Fortune, Vogue and other publications. As a photojournalist, she has covered events in Haiti, Cuba, South Africa and Namibia, as well as United States Presidential Inaugurations, school picnics, weddings, birthday parties and “grip and grin” events in New York City. She has also worked on seven A Day in the Life book projects as both an assignment editor and as a photographer. Her architectural photography skills have been demonstrated in work she has done as the principal photographer for five books in the W. W. Norton series on classical architecture, featuring the Library of Congress, the United States Capitol and the New York Public Library. Ms.Day was recently commissioned for the fourth time by the Official Inaugural Committee to photograph the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. Her photographs are featured in three official inaugural books, some of which are part of a feature exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
Each summer, Day is an instructor at the highly acclaimed Maine Media Workshops, where she has used Olympus cameras to teach a family storytelling course. She teaches students that anyone can be a photographer and that photography is really a means of telling and remembering moments in life, big or small. Anyone who has photography in their heart & mind should mark the date & join us for this special event.
