You may have noticed on the web that Leica's camera logo has gone rogue, donning a Santa Claus hat all over the internet and their Twitter background seems to have been lost in a blizzard. What's this all about? Why all this winter iconography when the leaves have barely hit the ground? The time has come for us Leica to plan their greeting card for the 2010 holiday season. This year Leica's bringing their annual seasonal greeting card contest to Flickr! You can enter for a chance to have your photo featured on all of Leica Camera’s seasonal cards distributed all around the world! The winner can look forward to a great prize, too: A LEICA D-LUX 5! The competition is open until 31 October 2010. Every registered Flickr user can take part and enter a picture of their choice. The best picture will be chosen by Leica and used for the print and email versions of the Leica Season’s Greetings Card that are sent out around the world. Additionally, the winning photo will be featured on Leica’s website, Facebook, Twitter and Flickr accounts too. The photographer’s name and copyright will be shown on the Season’s Greetings Card and the winner can also look forward to becoming the owner of a brand new LEICA D-LUX 5, launched only a couple of weeks ago. All pictures entered for the competition must be taken with a Leica camera. All entries must be in landscape format. To enter and for further details about the competition and the Terms & Conditions of entry, please visit http://www.flickr.com/groups/leicacameraholidaycard/. 2010 has turned out to be a year that not only introduced new cameras but completely new camera systems, along with an incredible amount of technological advances resulting in a quantum leap in photo imaging.
