Lithium-ion technology: As a rechargeable Li-ion battery, it provides consistent and stable power. These batteries have no memory effect, meaning they can be charged at any time without reducing their maximum capacity.

Rugged design: Built for professional use, these batteries are designed to perform reliably in demanding environments, including colder conditions.

Versatile compatibility: While the latest EN-EL18d is primarily for the Z 9 mirrorless camera, older versions are compatible with a range of professional Nikon DSLRs like the D4, D5, and D6. With the addition of a battery chamber cover (like the BL-5), some EN-EL18 variants can also power certain Nikon DSLRs in a battery grip.

Different charger requirements: Newer EN-EL18 batteries may require a specific charger. For example, the EN-EL18d is only compatible with the MH-33 battery charger. Older models typically use the MH-26 or MH-26a chargers.
