We were amused by a particular endorsement that the Canon PowerShot S95 got when it initially introduced last October. It seems that New York Times technology columnist David Pogue was so impressed with the forementioned camera, he wrote his review in the form of a love letter! We posted a link to the article in an earlier CWS blog entry, but to save you time, here it is : http://tinyurl.com/4426le8
While we at CWS are not the sort to send flowers or buy chocolates for ANY piece of photo equiptment, we do agree with David Pogue that the S95 is a special camera. There has been no other camera that combines a small pocket camera size with a LARGE image sensor and a fast F2.0 lens. Add to that HD video and the ability to shoot RAW files & it makes for an irresistable combination that has made the S95 one of our best selling cameras. So when Canon announced that the S95 will shortly be upgraded to the new PowerShot S100, we wondered if there would be any additional features that would compel Mr Pogue to get a new batch of bon-bons....
So what are the upgrades that the S100 offer? Here come the bullets!
