Canon yesterday introduced 4 new Powershot point & shoot cameras & the most powerful, feature laden entry level DSLR in the market with the new Rebel T2I, available in mid March for $899 with an 18-55mm IS zoom lens ($799 for the body alone). Featuring a class-leading 18.0 Megapixel CMOS Image Sensor and increased light sensitivity for low light photography, the EOS Rebel T2i also has an advanced HD Movie mode for gorgeous Full HD movies. Able to capture up to 3.7 frames per second, it's ready to go the minute it's picked up. Advanced Live View, a new wide-area screen, plus features like Canon's brilliant Auto Lighting Optimizer and Highlight Tone features ensure brilliant photos and movies, easily. With some of the most advanced features of any digital SLR, it's simply the best Rebel Canon has ever created.
As for the Powershots, the most interest will be generated by the Powershot SD3500, which will have 14.2 megapixels, a 24mm 5x zoom lens with IS, as well as 720p HD video recording. What will really wow you is the back of the camera, which will sport a 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD, which handles all of the camera controls. The new interface will allow you to drag and drop settings and customize your settings & functions. Shown below in black , it will sell for $349. It will be available in late March.
The other Powershots introduced includes the SX210 IS, (not shown)which will feature a 28mm wide-angle lens with 14x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilization, 14.1-megapixel resolution, 3.0-inch screen AND Full HD! We'll tell you more about the Sx210 & the other Powershots later this week...
